Global Holdings Corp and Tulip Telecom to Participate in Qualcomm BWA Venture

Global Holdings Corporation and Tulip Telecom may together invest Rs.300 crore for a 13% stake each in Qualcomm’s Indian BWA Venture.

Qualcomm is expected to set up a holding company in Asia which will own the remaining 74% in the new joint venture.

Barclays Capital may have structured the deal which will be announced shortly.

Qualcomm recently won bandwidth to offer wireless broadband in four circles.

CitiFinancial Gets Two New Bidders: Shriram City Union and Lakshmi Vilas Bank

Shriram City Union Finance and Lakshmi Vilas Bank are looking to acquire CitiFinancial India.

Shriram City has appointed Bank of America-Merill Lynch as the advisor. Lakshmi Vilas Bank which is a mid size bank with majority of its 271 branches in Tamil Nadu and South India has appointed JM Financial as the advisor on the deal.

CitiFinancial is the consumer finance arm of Citibank and comes under Citi Holdings globally. Earlier, Kotak Mahindra Bank was in discussions to acquire CitiFinancial

Nilkamal Raises Rs 60 Cr Via QIP

Nilkamal Ltd has raised Rs 60 Cr through QIP by issuing 2.14 Mn shares at Rs 280.35 per share (around 10% discount to the existing share price of Rs.310).

This year in February, it has planned to raise Rs.100 Cr through QIP to fund its expansion plans.

Usher Agro To Raise Rs 100 Cr QIP

Usher Agro has announced to raise upto Rs 100 Cr through QIP inorder to modernize its processing plant in Buxar and to expand its existing rice mill.

The funds will also be used to build a Silos Complex for grain storage at its plant at Chhata in Mathura, expansion of its wheat milling capacity at Mathura and for its working capital needs.

Symphony Service Acquires US Based CoreObjects Software

Bangalore-based Symphony Service Corporation has acquired CoreObjects Software Inc, a Los Angeles-based new product development services provider, that specialises in bringing commercially deployable products to market.

With CoreObjects’ engineering delivery centers in Bangalore and Pune, India and its team of highly skilled full-time product engineers and deep vertical market expertise, Symphony Services will expand its offerings in the product development and embedded product development space.

This acquisition also provides Symphony Services access to additional re-usable components and frameworks for product development, including CoreObjects' Smart Objects suite of software assets designed to speed clients' products to market.
