Private Security Firm SIS India Plans To Raise $100 Mn PE

Private security firm SIS India is raising $100 Mn through PE by diluting 10-15% stake to fund its future acquisition plans.

It also plans to rapay debt which was Rs.35.85 Cr as on March 2009.

Hedge fund DE Shaw & Co currently holds 14% in SIS which it bought in 2008 for around Rs 300 Cr ($75 mn) and plans to exit the firm in next few months.

The company has hired NM Rothschild to bring in the investors.

L&T To Buy Strategic Venture's Stake In Astra Microwave

Strategic Ventures Fund (Mauritius) may sell part of its stake in Astra Microwave to Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

Strategic Venture currently holds 15.5% stake in Astra and may sell around 5% to L&T. L&T is ready to offer 100% premium to market price of Rs.70.

If the transaction goes through, L&T's stake will go upto 15% from its current holding of 9.79% in Astra.

L&T will also make an open offer to acquire management control.

BEL May Acquire Stake in Astra Microwave

Bharat Electronics Ltd, is in talks to invest in Astra Microwave Products Ltd. BEL is AMPL's largest customer and accounted for 30% of AMPL’s revenue for FY2010.

BEL has been giving out vendor contracts to AMPL to service BEL’s customers locally and execute offset orders for overseas firms.

Symphony Service Acquires US Based CoreObjects Software

Bangalore-based Symphony Service Corporation has acquired CoreObjects Software Inc, a Los Angeles-based new product development services provider, that specialises in bringing commercially deployable products to market.

With CoreObjects’ engineering delivery centers in Bangalore and Pune, India and its team of highly skilled full-time product engineers and deep vertical market expertise, Symphony Services will expand its offerings in the product development and embedded product development space.

This acquisition also provides Symphony Services access to additional re-usable components and frameworks for product development, including CoreObjects' Smart Objects suite of software assets designed to speed clients' products to market.
