UK based Weir Group Plc is acquiring the valves business of BDK Engineering Industries. The acquisition is subject to tax clearance.

This acquisition will add to Weir's global customer offering and its Indian sales network will provide an additional route to Weir Group to market its products.

The valves division generated sales of Rs 152 Cr for the year ended on March'10. The gross assets of the valves division stand at Rs 122 Cr.

Vascon Engineers is acquiring 90% stake in GMP Technical Solutions for Rs.62.63 Cr.

This acquistiion will provide an edge to Vascon in offering turnkey solutions to the factory, IT and hotel buildings space, as it is engaged in synergic and complementary operations.

GMP Technical Solutions Pvt Ltd manufactures modular clean rooms, office partition systems etc. and has expertise in door set manufacturing and bearing ceiling supplies.

Crompton Greaves Limited has made a $400 Mn bid to acquire the transformer division of Emerson Electric Company.

Emerson Electric will exit the transformer business to focus on control automation, which is the mainstay for industrial automation business.

Emerson Electric is a US-based diversified global technology company with a $37.3 Bn market capitalisation.
