Eicher Motors Ltd To Enter In A JV With Swedish Vinn Group AB

New Delhi based - Eicher Motors Ltd is looking to enter in JV with Swedish Vinn Group AB through its subsidiary company VE Commercial Vehicles to offer engineering design services. 

VECV would look to align its engineering design services division along with EES Inc, USA and its two subsidiaries in China, collectively referred as ‘EES Division’. This division currently contributes around 2% of VECV’s consolidated revenues and around 1.7 per cent of EML’s consolidated revenues. An MoU for this purpose is being signed between VECV and Vinn Group.

Operational since July 2008, VE Commercial Vehicles is a 50:50 JV between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Ltd.

VECV 's product portfolio includes Eicher Trucks and Buses and Volvo Trucks.VE Commercial Vehicles has over 3000 employees with a sales & support network that spreads across more than 300 points across the country.

The company’s industrial base includes an integrated commercial vehicle factory in Pithampur producing Eicher trucks & buses along with factories in Thane, Gurgoan and Dewas dedicated to manufacturing gear boxes and gear box assemblies.

Vinn Group AB is a JV between Vinn Group and Volvo Technology Transfer AB (VTT), a wholly owned subsidiary of AB Volvo.

PE Fund SIDOFI Communication To Buy 10% In Asianet

Mauritius-based private equity fund SIDOFI Communication Investment is set to acquire nearly 10% stake in Kerala-based broadcaster Asianet Communication Limited (ACL), which is backed by leading broadcaster Star TV India.

SIDOFI will buy this stake from another Mauritius-based private equity fund Americorp Ventures. Americorp bought 9.33% stake in Asianet in 2005 for Rs.6.6 crore valuing Asianet at Rs.70 crore.
