Nadir Godrej has invested an undisclosed amount in LocalCircles, a community-based local social network.
Besides Nadir Godrej, RC Bhargava of Maruti Suzuki has also joined the company as member of the advisory board.
Founded by 2012 by Sachin Taparia, Mukesh Gupta, LocalCircles is a local social network for daily life, allows citizens to connect with all of their local communities (neighbors, colleagues, parents/teachers, local friends/family and common interest locals) in one place, easily find credible local information (finding a trusted pediatrician, a or how to get their child admitted to a particular school) and seek emergency assistance from their local communities.
LocalCircles enables people to strengthen their association with the local communities they live, work, or associate with.
Recently, Online Social Platform for Women – LimeRoad.com rasied $5 Mn first round of funding from Matrix Partners and Lightspeed Ventures Partners; Accentium Web acquired SitaGita Com Limited, which operates women community portal sitagita.com.
