Online Employee referral site – Whistle Talk has raised $400000 (R2 Cr) from Hyderabad Angels, according to Firstpost.com.

WhistleTalk is a social hiring application that enables employees and hiring managers to quickly find the best talent. Users can share job openings in their team, help friends to find their dream job and earn a referral bonus.

It uses social networking sites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Google Plus, to facilitate referrals for job openings.

WhistleTalk amplifies the power of referral hiring by leveraging employees' social networks. The company’s matching and virality engine ensures that right opportunities reach the best candidates fast.

Hyderabad Angels is a city-based group of angel investors backed by The Indus Entrepreneurs Hyderabad. It invests in early stage business and also provides mentoring, inputs on strategy as well as execution to the startups.

It typically invests up to R2Cr, with seed stage funding between R25 lakhs to R2Cr and early stage between R1Cr to R2Cr and exits over 3 to 5 year time frame through an IPO, merger or strategic acquisition.

Recently in March, Hyderabad Angels invested R2Cr in Hyderabad’s Edutor Technologies. Sashi Reddi, founder of SRI Capital fund led the investment with R1Cr.

In February, it invested R2Cr in Mumbai based Green India Building Systems and Services. Last year, it invested Rs.2 Cr in Hyderabad-based Identis which develops custom RFID chips for the manufacturing industry.

In the space, IIMjobs.com, job portal for MBAs raised seed funding from One97 Communications, India Venture Partners, Pallav Nadhani, Abhishek Rungta, Anand Lunia, Shailesh Vickram Singh, Sachin Garg and others.
