Rallis India Acquires 51% In Zero Waste Agro
Rallis India Limited has acquired 51% stake in Maharashtra-based Zero Waste Agro Organics Private Limited for R29Cr.
The acquisition is an all cash deal funded through internal accruals.
With this deal, Rallis has strengthened its product portfolio with organic manure and soil conditioner products and have exclusive sales and marketing arrangements with ZWAOPL for domestic and international markets.
Zero Waste Agro Organics is organic manure and soil conditioners manufacturing company with three manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra and one in Uttar Pradesh.
Rallis and ZWAOPL are planning to launch GeoGreen, a special type of manure produced with bagasse purchased from sugar mills and proprietary technology. Each plant can produce about 15,000 units of this manure which will improve productivity by 8-15%.
Rallis India is a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals engaged in manufacturing of agrochemicals. Rallis manufactures products in each of the agrochemical segments – pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
The company has a strong manufacturing infrastructure, with factories across five locations.
In 2009-10, Rallis became a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals Ltd, earlier it was jointly owned by multiple Tata group companies.
Rallis On BSE
In 2010, Rallis acquired 53.5% stake in Bangalore based seeds firm Metahelix Life Sciences Pvt Ltd for Rs.99.5 Cr. It was established in 2000 by Indian scientists to focus on seed research and manufacturing.
