Myshaadi.in, a wedding planning portal has raised first round of funding from Indian Angel Network. The investors include Rajan Anandnan, Sunil Kalra, Ashim Mehra and Rehan Yar Khan.

Rehan Yar Khan has joined the board of Shaadi.in. The funds will be used to strengthen operations and further innovate it's suite of services.

MyShaadi.in was launched in 2011 by Abhishek Jain. The portal enables couples to plan wedding events, share invitations, share photographs along with features like budget calculator, shopping list, to do list, etc. The website has so far served more than 13,000 couples and aims to have over 1 lakh couples by this year end.

The website also boasts of an interactive blogging section which is contributed by the industry experts that illuminates couples on latest trends and international concepts of wedding.

Earlier in January, Big Indian Wedding Private Limited which runs wedding planning portal - BigIndianWedding.com raised VC funding from undiclosed Indian business family.

Another portal operating in same space – shadimagic was launched last year which provides online wedding magazine, shopping portal, listing for vendors and agencies. Similarly, some other portal catering to this segment include indiaweddingplanner.com, marrymeweddings.in, shaadionline.com, indianweddingsite.com among others.

The Indian Angel Network has over 180 members and has over 25 investments across multiple sectors like IT, Mobile and Education and has made several successful exits. In 2011 alone, IAN invested nearly US$10Mn in 10 start ups including Jigsee, Groffr, and Vayavya.

Last week, it announced an investment of R2Cr in Mumbai based intelligent traffic monitoring solutions firm - Birds Eye Systems.

Last month, it invested in Chennai based online hotel booking portal StayZilla. It also invested about $1Mn in gaming startup Gamiana Digital Entertainment Pvt Ltd. In January, it announced a R3.25Cr investment in Peel-Works, a cloud enabled sales force transformation and BPO firm.
