RJ Feeds Private Ltd has acquired 100% stake in Tanzania based poultry firm - Gold'N Chicks Limited. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
This acquisition is the first cross border acquisition for the group and is seen as a first step towards foray into African market. The group expects to leverage its vast experience in poultry business to expand its foot print into other African countries like Ethiopia, Kenya etc.
Akasam Consulting was the sole advisor to the transaction.
RJ Feeds is is a part of Aurangabad based RJ Group, which has interest in integrated poultry business, agri-biotechnology, manufacture of fertilizers and natural pesticides, etc.
Other entities in the group include Maruti Fertochem Ltd, Khadkeshwar Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd and Neem India Products among othes.
The group has recently ventured into Infrastructure Development activity and started Devgiri Infrastructures Private Limited which is involved in construction of roads, bridges and dams.
Gold'N Chicks Ltd is a poultry company based out of Dar Es Salam, Tanzania. It has broiler farms, hatcheries, feed mill and chicken dressing plant in Tanzania.
