Bangalore based cloud telephony startup - Exotel has raised R2.5Cr Series A funding from Mumbai Angels and Blume Ventures. The investors will take a 25% stake in the company, valuing the startup at R10Cr.

Exotel offers a number to a company on which they can receive & make lots of calls & SMS, all at the same time without having to invest in any infrastructure.

The product is a dashboard with Sales tools, Marketing tools, Customer support tools, Business intelligence, analytics etc, i.e. all tools necessary for an enterprise to run their business smoothly over Voice & SMS. Exotel currently has over 65 clients and makes revenues of 4 lakhs per month.

Cloud computing has seen a lot of traction in the recent past. In January, Gurgaon based cloud telephony startup - Knowlarity funding from Sequoia Capital. Knowlarity Communications Pvt Ltd provides voice and data communication services over the internet to companies and individuals in India and Indonesia. It claims to have over 40,000 clients including major companies such as Pepsi, General Motors, Adobe, Noida Police, Fortis Healthcare and Procter & Gamble.

Other cloud computing solution providers in India include Zenith Infotech's PROUD, TCS's ITaaS, Chennai-based OrangeScape's OrgangeScape Cloud, Cynapse India's Cyn.in, Mumbai-based Synage's DeskAway, TCS' ITaaS and Infosys Technologies' cloud based solution for auto sector, among others.

Blume Ventures has invested in a number of startups including Mumbai-based EKI Communications Pvt Ltd, Adepto Solutions Pvt Ltd, RupeeStreet Financial Services Pvt Ltd and Sparsha Learning Technologies among others. It has also invested in Faridabad-based cloud computing firm, E2E Networks Pvt Ltd.
