Copthall Mauritius Acquires Additional Stake In LIC Housing
Copthall Mauritius Investment Ltd has acquired additional stake in LIC Housing Finance through open market transaction from CLSA (Mauritius).
According to block deal data available on the stock exchanges, Copthall Mauritius Investments purchased 16,039,061 shares of LIC Housing Finance for R255.35 a piece, valuing the transaction at R409.55Cr from the open market.
As of December 2011, Copthall Mauritius Investments was holding 4.91% stake (2.32Cr shares) in LIC Housing , while CLSA (Mauritius) held 4.70% stake (2.23Cr shares) in the company.
Performance of LIC Housing On BSE
LIC Housing has raised R810Cr by issuing preference shares to its promoter, LIC. According to filing on the BSE, the company issued 3Cr equity shares of face value of R2 each at a premium of R268 per share to LIC on preferential basis.
The fund infusion would help raise capital adequacy ratio. Tier-I capital adequacy of the housing finance company stood at 8.6% as on December 2011.
