Advent International may acquire majority stake in Hyderabad-based – Care Hospitals Private Limited, a hospital chain.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Nimmagadda Prasad - founder of Matrix Labs and UK-based Ashmore together hold about 80% in the hospital and the remaining is held by management, according to BS.

Founded in 1997 by B. Soma Raju, Care Hospitals is a multi-specialty hospital chain comprising of 1600 beds across 12 hospitals. It has presence in Bhubhaneswar, Nagpur, Secundarabad Surat and Vizag.

Advent has a strong presence in healthcare and has invested in 25 companies globally.

In healthcare segment, Global Hospitals Group is planning to raise $75-100 Mn PE funding by diluting promoter’s stake to fund its expansion plans.

Dubai based healthcare group - DM Healthcare has raised R500Cr from Olympus Capital. The funds will be used by DM Healthcare to set up hospitals in India.

Acquarius India and Seedfund's $10Mn has invested in Vaatsalya Healthcare Solutions. Glocal Healthcare System, a lowcost hospital chain, raised its first round of investment of $3.36 Mn from Elevar Equity and Sequoia Capital, while Aureos Capital India invested $10 Mn in BSR Super Speciality Hospitals.

In an another big ticket deal in healthcare space, South Africa based Life Healthcare acquired 26% stake in Max Healthcare for R516.5Cr, valuing the company at around R2000Cr in all cash transaction in October last year.
