Subbu Subramanium founded MCap Fund Advisors and IDFC Private equity are investing R100Cr in Regen Powertech. This transaction values the wind turbine manufacturer at R1600Cr. Post transaction, promoter's shareholding will come down to 60%.

Regen Powertech is a Chennai based wind turbine manufacturer promoted by Nuziveedu Seeds Group. The company has a strategic alliance with Vensys Energy AG and sells its wind turbines under a licence from and under the brand name of Vensys.

Regen Powertech provides turnkey Solutions for wind power projects that includes consultancy, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, operations and maintenance services of wind turbines. It manufactures gearless wind power generators(1500KW)Currently, it is executing orders for Tata Power (50 MW), Green Infra (of IDFC, 50 MW), Bhilwara group (50 MW), New Power (100 MW), and GAIL and TVS Energy (25 MW each).

Everstone Capital invested $26.60Mn in Regen Powertech through its maiden fund – Indivision India Partners in October'07. Nuziveedu holds 42% in the company, Madhusudhan Khemka(MD) and R Sundaresh(Jt-MD) own 21.5%, while Everstone Capital owns close to 35% stake in the company.

Regen Powertech is also planning a R400-500Cr IPO in 2012. Last Year, ToI had reported that General Atlantic may invest upto $32.84Mn in the company. General Atlantic was supposed to acquire new shares as well some of the shares held by Everstone Capital, but then there was no further development and in October, Regen announced the planned IPO.
