Jagran Prakashan Limited is planning to buy NaiDunia Media Private Limited, Indore-based hindi newspaper publisher.

The deal will benefit Nai Duniya as it is making losses since last six year.

Founded in 1974 by Babu Labhchand Chhajlani and Shri Basantilal Sethia, Nai Dunia is a hindi newspaper published in 14 cities including Delhi, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur.

Mahendra Mohan Gupta promoted Jagran Group, publishes Hindi news daily, Dainik Jagran, which has a total readership of more than 54 Mn. Jargan It also offers outdoor advertising, below the line solutions, internet, magazines and value added services.

Apart from Dainik Jagran, the company also owns other print media brands - Inext (bilingual newspaper), CityPlus(weekly compact newspaper), Sakhi (Women's magazine) and Punjabi Jagran (Punjabi language daily of Jagran).

Performance On BSE

Last July, Blackstone invested R225Cr in Jagran Media Network Investment Pvt Ltd (JMNIPL), the holding company of Jagran Prakashan Ltd.

In 2010, Jagran acquired the publishing business of Mid Day in a share swap deal. The publishing business included the afternoon newspaper Mid Day, Sunday Mid Day and Gujarati Mid Day, besides the largest read Urdu daily, The Inquilab, and the website.
