Ram Kaashyap Investment Limited has raised $75 Mn through GDR issue to fund the acquisition of Gemmia Worldwide. The company issued 3.75 Mn GDR of $20 each.
Last August, the company acquired Gemmia Worldwide SA, an oil sludge treatment and recycling company based in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) from Tanian Conslidated Ltd, for $150 Mn.The company had planned to raise funds by issuing GDRs and FCCBs.
The FCCB issue of $75 Mn opened on 22 Aug 2011.
Promoted by A Venkatramani and Jude Jeyaparakash, Ram Kaashyap is a South Indian media and entertainment company. Initially started as an NBFC, company shifted it's focus to the media space.
It forayed into the television broadcasting business by acquiring 100% stake of Tamil Box Office (India) Private Limited, company engaged in production of movie based entertainment programmes, in 2009. It also acquired 100% of Pix Aalaya Studios Pvt Ltd, company engaged in webstreaming of movie content on portal.
