Srei Infrastructure To Raise R500Cr

Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited is planning to raise R500 Cr in one or more tranches through public issue of infrastructure bonds in the nature of secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures.

The company is yet to finalize the rate of interest of the bond and the issue is expected by early January 2012.

In March this year, Opulent Venture Capital Trust bought 11.52% stake in Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited in pursuant to the scheme of amalgamation of Quippo Infrastructure Equipment Limited with Srei Infra Finance.

Kolkata based Srei Infrastructure is involved in financing infrastructure in telecom, oil & gas, roads, power, ports, industrial parks and rural IT infrastructure, and is also engaged in equipment leasing, rentals & auctioning, project financing, project development, advisory and fund management.

The company was also planning to launch a $150 Mn private equity fund for defence and security sector.

In the 2011-12 fiscal, IDFC was looking to raise R5000Cr in two or three tranches and L&T Infra hoped to raise R1100Cr from infrastructure bonds.
