Kolkata based media company Katha Mediatix has filed DRHP to raise funds through a public offering. The issue will constitute 26.27% of the fully diluted post issue paid up capital of the company.

The funds will be used to acquisitions, setting up a corporate office, augmenting long term working capital and other general corporate purposes.

Stellant Capital Advisory Services Pvt Ltd is the book running lead manager to the issue.

Katha Mediatix was founded in 1986 by Krishnendu Sen. The company has two business segments – ‘Advertising Display’ and ‘Multiple Broadcasting Rights’. Under the ‘Advertising Display’ segment, Katha offers outdoor advertising in the form of hoardings, mobile billboards, bus advertising, airport and mallscape advertising, etc.

Katha also trades in multiple broadcasting rights, wherein it buys satellite rights from the producers for sale to content aggregators, who in turn sell it off to television broadcasters for public viewing of media content. It is currently headquartered in Mumbai with six branches and 30 representative offices across India, and a registered office in London.

The promoters hold close to 50% stake in the company. In June'10, the company raised Rs5.5Cr by issuing shares to Sparrow Hill Advisory Pvt Ltd and Argha Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd. Sparrow Hill Advisory sold it's 39.20% stake in the company to Greenfield Investments in December'10. GreenField is currently holds 39.20% stake in the company while Argha Capital has 9.80% stake.
