Kwality Dairy May Raise Rs600Cr From NSR, Saif Partners, Rabo Equity
Kwality Dairy may raise Rs600Cr from NSR, Saif Partners and Rabo Equity by diluting upto 20% stake, If the deal goes through it will value the dairy at Rs3000Cr, while the current market cap of the company is Rs2550Cr i.e. 1.58x sales of the company.
The board is considering other options including QIP and FCCB to raise funding for expansion. It may also set up a new wholly owned subsidiary in Dubai as it looks to expand in the MENA region.
However, Saif has denied any talks or interest in the deal.

Kwality Dairy sells product under brands like Dairy Best Pure Ghee and LivLite. It has four milk processing units in Palwal, Saharanpur, Dibai and Agra, with a capacity to process 1.7 million litres of milk every day.
Kwality Dairy on BSE
There have been a few investments in dairies in the past two years. In Feb'11, Aavishkaar Venture invested in Orissa-based dairy firm Milk Mantra Dairy Pvt Ltd. Last year Carlyle invested Rs.110 Cr for a minority stake in Andhra’s Tirumala Milk Product and Motilal Oswal Venture Capital invested in Parag Milk Foods.
Hyderabad-based Creamline Dairy Products Limited (CDPL), which sells 'Jersey' brand of dairy products, is also planning to raise Rs.100 Cr through private equity.
