ICICI Venture's PE Co-Head K S Jangbahadur To Join JP Morgan
K S Jangbahadur, co-head of private equity at ICICI Venture, has quit the fund, and is expected to join JP Morgan as head of its PE business.
Jangbahadur joined ICICI Venture in March 2008 from JP Morgan's San Francisco office where he was heading I-banking in the software sector.
At ICICI Venture, he led the investments in Star Health Insurance and TeamLease and managed the firm's investments.
Prior ICICI Venture, he was an i-banker for over 14 years and worked at JP Morgan, UBS and Credit Suisse in Mumbai, Singapore, Hong Kong and San Francisco. His investment banking role as a MD, both at JPMorgan and UBS, was to run the Global Software I-Banking practice with coverage responsibilities across the US, UK and Continental Europe.
He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the IIT, Varanasi and an MBA from IIM-A.This is the second high-profile exit from ICICI Venture in last couple of years. Recently, Sumit Chandwani, executive director at ICICI Venture quit the fund manager. In 2009, Renuka Ramnath quit as MD of ICICI Venture to start her own fund, Multiples Alternate Asset Management.
