Former Actis Partner Subba Rao Launches $250 Mn Fund, LotusPool Capital
Former Actis Partner Subba Rao Telidevara, has launched a $250 Mn (Rs.1,105 Cr) fund, LotusPool Capital, for buyouts, PIPE deals and growth capital fundings.
The fund is expected to make a first close in 8-12 months.

Subbarao joined Actis in 1996 and has led a number of investments such as Daksh, Tavant, GRO and Sify (IT and ITES), Sandhar Technologies (in auto parts) and Nilgiris (wholesale cash and carry).
Prior joining Actis, he spent over seven years as a PE investor with ICICI Ventures and ITC Group, and also had operational experience with ITW India Ltd and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
Subba has a Bachelors and Masters degree in engineering from IIT Madras and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
Last year, Rajesh Khanna, former Warburg Pincus India MD and India head, quit to start a new PE fund Arka Capital. Former partner of Baring Private Equity Subbu Subramaniam has floated PE firm MCap Fund Advisors, while former head of Citigroup Venture Capital International (CVCI), Ajay Relan, started CX Partners.
Also, former ICICI Venture veterans, Jayanta Banerjee, Anand Vyas and Sunay Mathure founded Pravi Capital with a target of $200 Mn. P R Srinivasan, the former MD & India Region Head of CVCI, started Exponentia Capital this year.
