Nilon's To Acquire Regional Food Processors To Expand Product Portfolio
Pune based processed food maker - Nilon's Enterprises is planning to expand it's product portfolio through acquisitions. The company is in talks with banks like SBI, HDFC and Axis for a fund of about Rs 400 Cr to fund the acquisitions.
Nilon's is also merging its group firm Deepak Foods with another group firm - Sanghavi Foods Pvt Ltd.
The product portfolio of company includes pickles, papads, tooty-fruity, sauces, vermicelli, macaroni, tomato ketchup and jams.

The group posted a bottomline of Rs.7 Cr on revenues of Rs.175 Cr for the fiscal year 2010-11. It has a distribution reach of 4,00,000 stores and a network of 36,00 dealers.
In 2008, it raised Rs.75 Cr from UK based entrepreneur Kirit Pathak, who now owns between 26-50% in various group entities.
The industry has seen some acquisitions in the recent past including Future Group's acquisition of Capital Foods, Norway based Orkla ASA's acquisition of Pune based Rasoi Magic Food and many others.
