ChrysCapital Sells 2.5% Stake In Idea Cellular For Rs 751 Cr
ChrysCapital has sold 2.5% stake in Idea Cellular Limited for Rs.751.2 Cr through a bulk deal on Thursday.
ChrysCapital's unit Monet Ltd, has sold 83.47 Mn share at Rs.90 per share on NSE.
As on June 2011, Monet held 2.71% stake (89.5 Mn shares) in Idea Cellular.

In 2006, ChrysCapital invested in around Rs.500 Cr in Idea.
Other shareholders in the company includes TMI Mauritius Ltd (14.07%), TMI India (5.01%) and Providence Equity Partners (9.99%).
Idea's promoters hold 46.03% in the company through various entities - Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (25.35%), Birla TMT Holdings Pvt Ltd (8.58%), Hindalco Industries Ltd (6.91%), Grasim Industries Ltd (5.18) and Kumar Managalam Birla (0.01%).
In 2008, Idea Cellular acquired Spice Communication for $633.05 Mn.
The company has won license to offer 3G services in 11 service areas, which generate over 81% of the company’s total revenue.
As on May 2011, Idea Cellular's subscriber base was of 93.75 mn customers.
The current market cap of company is Rs.29,651 Cr. For FY11 it posted total revenue of Rs.15,389 Cr with PAT of Rs.844.60 Cr.
