Komli Media Buys Mobile Ad Network ZestAdz

Komli Media India Pvt Ltd has acquired 100% stake in Los Angeles-based mobile ad network platform, ZestAdz.

The acquisition will enable the company to offer digital and advertising solutions on the mobile platform, in addition to existing offerings for agencies, advertisers, and publishers, with solutions across display, video, search, and social media.

Asif Ali, who is the co-founder of ZestAdz, will join the mobile division of Komli Media as product head and Amit Bhartiya, the business head of audience monitoring firm ViziSense, will head ZestAdz.

Founded in 2007 by Asif Ali, Nat D Natraj and Terry Uppal, ZestAdz offers mobile advertising solutions to advertisers and publishers for performance and branding based campaigns. It has offices in Des Moines, Iowa and Chennai.

ZestADZ currently delivers 5 billion mobile ad impressions across markets such as India, Indonesia, US, Europe and Africa. About 25% of its total traffic comes from India.

In the past, ZestAdz has worked for publishers such as Indiatimes, Ibibo, Ixigo and Indiagames and executed campaigns for various brands - Tata AIG, Aircel, Google, MSN and Yahoo!. Apart from advertising solutions, it provides analytics support to both advertisers and publishers.

This is Komli's fourth acquisition. Last month, it acquired Singapore-based online advertising firm, Aktiv Digital, while in 2010, it acquired Australia-based site representation company, PostClick and UK-based online advertising firm, Indoor Media.

With the latest deal, Komli Media now offers a full suite of digital solutions to agencies, advertisers, and publishers, with solutions across display, video, search, social media and now mobile.

Founded in 2006 by Amar Goel, Mumbai-based Komli Media provides ad network platform with solutions across performance marketing, social media, video advertising, audience targeting, rich media, online audience measurement and brand impact measurement. ViziSense, an online audience measurement and ad spends benchmarking platform is powered by Komli Media.

Early this year, Komli had raised Mn from Norwest Venture Partners, Helion Venture Partners and Nexus Venture Partners. This was company's third round of funding. First was in 2008, when it raised $7 Mn followed by second round of $6 Mn in 2010 from Nexus, Helion and DFJ.
