Accel Partners To Launch $125 Mn VC Fund

Accel Partners is planning to set up its third India-focused fund with a corpus of $125 Mn.

Accel Partners entered India in 2008 when it acquired Bangalore-based early stage venture capital fund - Erasmic Partners, which was managing a $15 Mn fund. Later on, Accel closed its second fund of $60 Mn (Rs.292 Cr).

Founded in 1983, Accel Partners is a global venture capital firm with offices located in Silicon Valley, London, and India. It typically makes investments in internet technology companies.

Accel Partners India investment includes Ace Creative Learning, Babyoye.com (Nest Childcare Services Private Limited), Exclusively.in, Probe Equity Research Pvt Ltd, LetsBuy.com, among others.

Unilever Plc is also setting up venture capital fund to invest in India; PTC India Limited is looking to float two private equity funds; Aloe Private Equity, a Mauritius-based Asia-focused PE firm, will launch 350 Mn euros ($501 Mn) fund - Aloe Environment Fund III, to invest in companies developing environmental technologies; while WL Ross & Co backed Taiyo Pacific Partners LP is planning to launch an India focused fund.
