Naaptol To Raise Upto $25 Mn
Naaptol Online Shopping Pvt Ltd will raise upto $25 Mn from PE/VC funds to fund it's entry in the television segment. It may raise additional funds for production, studio and distribution.
The company already has partnerships with multiple channels on hourly slots and is now looking at launching a 24-hour channel for selling.

Founded in 2008 by Manu Agarwal, Naaptol Online Shopping operates Naaptol.com. It is a comparison based social shopping portal that enables one to search/compare/buy products based on certain attributes/models.
There are about 470 brands that are associated with Naaptol which include Indiatimes Shopping, Ferns and Petals, Home Shop 18, J J Mehta among others.
In July 2008, the company had received funding from BCCL , while in 2010 Canaan Partners bought 25% stake by investing Rs.40 Cr.
Similarly, Snapdeal an e-commerce portal is also planning to foray into television.
In the online space, recently Inkfruit.com raised rasied $3 Mn from SAIF Partners; LetsBuy.com raised $6 Mn from Helion Venture Partners, Accel Partners and Tiger Global, while in 2010 BuyThePrice.com raised funding from angel investors Rajan Anandan, Rehan Yar Khan, Sunil Kalra and several other investors.
