StanC PE May Invest Rs 300 Cr In Infrastructure Firm Indu Projects
Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) is planning to invest Rs.300 Cr in Hyderabad-based infrastructure solutions provider Indu Projects Limited for a 10% stake. This values the company at Rs.3,000 Cr.
The deal may involve SCPE acquiring the stake of some existing founder investors as well as infusing fresh capital into the company.
If the deal materialises, Indu Projects may use the amount to fund its ongoing projects.

Established in 2001 by I Shyam Prasad Reddy, Indu Projects is an end-to-end solutions provider in infrastructure with a turnover of Rs.1,929 Cr for 2008-09 and PAT of Rs.47.1 Cr.
Indu Projects has emerged as an EPC specialist for the energy sector within its overall construction play that also include mining, irrigation and roads. It also has a portfolio of residential and township developments.
As on March 2009, its order book stood at Rs.4,118.1 Cr. - Buildings (Rs.1,070 Cr), Core Infra (Rs.2,101 Cr) and Energy (Rs.988.1 Cr).
Indu's equity partners include Citigroup Venture Capital, Credit Suisse, Maple Holdings and IDFC at the parent level and Sun Apollo and Red Fort Capital at SPV level.
Indu Projects has technical tie-ups with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, Wageningen University of Netherlands and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
