Transgene Biotek is set to acquire Marillion Pharmaceuticals Inc, a US-based Oncology biopharma research firm based in Exton, Pennsylvania, in an all-share deal.
This acquisition will benefit Transgene to secure technology licencing deals with leading pharma firms for international markets.

Marillion Pharmaceuticals, a clinical stage bio-pharmaceuticals company, engaged in development and commercialisation of novel therapeutics in oncology, has presence in the US and manufacturing and licensing partners in the UK and Europe.
It is currently developing three cancer drugs, which are currently at the clinical study stage. It also has licencing arrangements with global drug makers.
Promoted by biotechnologist K K Rao in 1991, Transgene Biotek Ltd is engaged in manufacturing and sale of drug delivery systems, bio generics, human vaccines, and pharmaceutical products in India.
It also provides contract R&D and pre-clinical and clinical research services to bio-pharmaceutical companies.
It has earlier out-licensed a manufacturing process to Dr Reddy's Laboratories and its recombinant Hepatitis B vaccine technology to vaccine producer Serum Institute of India.
