Ruia Group Acquires German's Auto Component Firm Gumasol

Ruia Group has acquired German-based tyre and auto component maker Gumasol-Werke Dr. Mayer GmbH & Co. KG through its German SPV - Gumasol Rubber Tec.

The deal includes acquisition of Gumasol's assets and manufacturing cum development facility at its plant near Frankfurt with its 106 employees.

Gumasol has patents and technology that the Ruia group may bring to India.

Equirus Capital was the advisor to Gumasol.

Gumasol Rubber is a Euro 25 Mn company specialist in elastomer technology and products.

Kolkata-based Ruia group is also planning more acquisitions in the auto, infrastructure and sealing space.

In 2009, it had acquired British auto component company Schlegel Automotive Europe and Germany's leading automotive sealing systems company, Henniges Automotive Grefarth GmbH.

Ruia group entered into tyre industry in 2005 with the acquisition of Dunlop India and Falcon Tyres. In 2007, it acquired Mumbai-based Monotona Tyres and in the same year it bought controlling stakes in Malaysian electronics company Industronics Berhad.
