Faering Capital Fund Raises Rs 750 Cr

Faering Capital- a fund founded by Aditya Parekh- has raised Rs 750 Cr from the domestic market.

The investors are largely local banks and financial institutions.

Faering Capital fund will look to invest in mid-cap firms, with an average deal size of Rs30-80 Cr.

The advisory board comprises of Deepak Parekh and Adi Godrej. The board members will interact with companies; giving advice and helping them implement their business plans.

The fund has been launched by Aditya Parekh, son of HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh and his friend Sameer Shroff.

Aditya Parekh worked briefly with DSP Merrill Lynch in Mumbai and is an MBA from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Sameer Shroff, an alumni of Kellog School of Management, had worked with INDIAREIT for a year before founding Faering Capital.

According to Emerging Markets Private Equity Association, Indian funds raised $1.3 bn in the first six months of 2010, compared with $4 bn in the same period last year.
