Founded in 1991, Infotech Enterprises Ltd is a provider of technological services and solutions in the fields of geographic information systems, engineering design and software development.
General Atlantic, an investment firm, picked up about 15% stake in Infotech investing about Rs 300cr in 2007. The company had then said that the proceeds were to be spent on acquisitions.
In March 2010, the company was sitting on a cash pile of about Rs 400 cr.
In January, the company had acquired US-based Daxcon Engineering in an all cash deal. Infotech acquired acquired California based semiconductor design company - Time to Market in 2008. It also acquired 10% stake in Pune-based Tele-Atlas Kalyani India Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
