Raxa Security Services Looking For Overseas Acquisitions

Security Solutions Co - Raxa Security Services Limited is looking for overseas acquisitions to the security needs at its airports and power projects abroad.

Raxa Security Services - promoted by GMR Group, provides security services to all the GMR companies in the country.

It has a training center on the Bangalore - Hyderabad national highway which trains about 900 marshals and security supervisors every year.

The group has 12 power projects in six countries including Australia and South Africa. All these projects are being manned by local security agencies.

It has also won a bid to build, operate, modernize and expand Male International Airport in Maldives.

The company is looking to acquire security solutions companies in some of these countries to cater to the security needs of these plants.

Another security services provider - Topsgrup is acquiring a controlling stake in US based security services provider for about Rs 300 Cr.

In May'08, Topsgrup acquired 51% stake in British security firm - Shield Guarding Company Ltd for Rs 125 Cr in an all cash transaction.

Also in 2008, New Delhi-based SIS forayed into the overseas security services market with the acquisition of Australian guarding and mobile patrol business unit of American conglomerate United Technologies.
