Packaging firm-Vacmet India has raised $11 Mn from Rabo Equity Advisors' India Agri Business Fund. The funds will be used for expanding manufacturing facilities.
UP based - Vacmet India Limited was established in 1993 by Dinesh Chand Agarwal. It manufactures a complete range of packaging materials such as hot stamping foil, selective metallized film, holographic films, metallized paper and other metallized coated products.

It has four manufacturing facilities based in Kosi, Chatta and Agra. It supplies the products to convertors that supplies packaging materials to companies such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, ITC, Cadbury, Dabur, Colgate etc
The company is undertaking massive expansion of its current capacities of BOPET and metalizing films. In the first phase it plans to invest Rs.195 Cr to set up a BOPET facility, which will be operational by March'11.
During the next phases, Vacmet plans to venture into setting up of BOPP and PET chips capacities. The company proposes to invest Rs.400 Cr over next 3 years.
India Agri Business Fund makes investments in Agro and food sector. It is backed by IFC, Dutch development bank - FMO and DEG (member of the German KfW Group). So far, it has invested in Global Green Company Pvt. Ltd.($10 Mn), Daawat Foods($5 Mn), LT Foods($5.46 Mn), GeePee Agri and Sri Biotech($8.71 Mn).
