RSB Transmissions (I) Limited has acquired 70% stake in Mechanical Supplies International for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition was done through its Netherland based arm RSB Europe BV. The plant will provide RSB a front-end presence in Europe.
RSB plans to manufacture the sub-assemblies in India and the final assembly and finishing work at MSI as transportation cost will be lower.

RSB Transmission is engaged in manufacturing of automotive, construction and farm equipment having 10 plants in India.
It is backed by IL&FS Investment Managers and Evolvence PE, which hold 24.5% stake in the company. The remaining stake is held by Behera Brothers.
This is RSB Transmissions’ second overseas acquisition, after that of Miller Brothers Manufacturing for $19 Mn in November 2006.
MSI is a Belgium-based construction equipment aggregate manufacturer. The company manufactures heavy fabrication aggregates for excavators, off-highway machines and windmills which are similar to the products of RSB manufactured at its Jamshedpur, Dharwad and Chennai plants.
It had recorded a turnover of euro 21 Mn.
Caterpillar Belgium and Caterpillar France are among the major customers of MSI.
