Asim Ghosh May Sell Stake In Vodafone
Asim Ghosh- former MD of Vodafone Essar Limited is rumored to be in talks with Analjit Singh to sell his 2.39% stake in the company.
Ghosh could end up with Rs 344 cr as per the company’s valuation in December where Ghosh had sold a 2.29% stake in the company to the UK firm for Rs 330 cr.
At present,he holds the stake in Vodafone Essar indirectly - through various holding companies.

Vodafone Essar is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group. The UK- based company holds 57.59% stake in Vodafone Essar. The other major equity holder in the company is the Essar group, which has a 33%.
In December 2009, Vodafone also bought a part of Analjit Singh’s effective stake, which came down to 3.87% from 7.5%.
At that time, Ghosh and Singh had offloaded 49% in each of their investment companies through option arrangements with Vodafone.
Ghosh and Singh landed up with their original stakes in the company as Hutchison exited India. Hutchison had worked out a deal with them under which they would get a minimum of $226.25 Mn and $164.51 Mn, respectively, if they were to exercise the put options.
