Edserv SoftSystems Acquires 'SchoolMate'
Edserv Softsystems Ltd has acquired Bridle Information and Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. which has an ERP provider under the brand name SchoolMATE.
The cost of the acquisition was a little less than $1mn, although the exact amount cannot be determined.
Bridle was started by a team of BITS-Pilani Alumni in 2004. SchoolMATE-- School Management At Ease--is a CRM and ERP software for educational institutions. It provides schools with solution that will enable them to update parents about their child’s status and his performance at school over their mobile phones through SMS and also e-mail and Web using a secure mechanism.
The product SchooolMATE is presently being used in two cities - Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam - by 70,000 parents
"Chennai fund" angel investors comprising Suresh Kalpathi (SSI, Aptech, Kalpathi Investments), R Ramaraj (Sify, Sequoia), K B Chandrasekhar (e4e, Jamcracker), Gopal Srinivasan (TVS), Raghu Rajagopal (Energeate) and Ram Mohan (Afilias) had invested in Bridle in January 2009.
EdServ Softsystems Limited is an IT solutions company that provides integrated learning & placement solutions. In September 2009, Edserv acquired 100 % stake inonline tuition portal 2tion.com. Last month, the company got shareholder's approval to raise up $500mn from the overseas market. However, no action has taken place on that front yet.
